Some people said it couldn't happen
others couldn't believe it was true.
But I knew in my mind it was real-
When you found me, and I found you.
I let their words cut through me,
thinking that maybe they were right.
So worried about what everyone might think
I couldn't close my eyes at night.
But something you said made them open
and your smile made me able to see-
that I don't need their approval-
I just need you here with me.
You bring each day much laughter,
and you end each night with a good-bye,
I'm so glad to know you are a part of my life
each time I look into your eyes.
We come from two different worlds,
so far, but also so very near.
Each time our eyes meet, or our fingers touch
you seem to relax all my fears.
I've heard them say we'll never last,
our reasons for love are wrong.
I know that someday, we too might end

I'll just enjoy each hour, each minute,
